I was dubious about Obama for along time, mainly because of his relative youth and inexperience. However, the more I read about him the more I like was he stands for, and the more I see him the more I think he could be an inspiring world leader. While I'm here, why is it that he is consistently referred to as black when he is mixed race? .
UN Chief Calls For Climate Change Action
In key reports last year, a U.N. network of climate and other scientists warned of severe consequences _ from rising seas, droughts, severe weather, species extinction and other effects _ without sharp cutbacks in emissions of the industrial, transportation and agricultural gases blamed for global warming. To avoid the worst, the Nobel Prize-winning U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said greenhouse gas emissions should be reduced by 25 percent to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2020 _ and by at least half by 2050. "This is just as important as stopping nuclear proliferation. This is just as important as stopping terrorism," New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday in the keynote address. The new agreement would replace the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, which requires 36 industrial nations to radically reduce emissions by 2012, when it expires.

Macworld 2008 Prediction: Apple's MacBook Plus Tablet Laptop
It's January, which means time has come for the electronics industry to release all its secrets for the year ahead. That means plenty of announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show beginning Saturday in Las Vegas, and then at Apple's Macworld the week after that. (We'll be live at both with video and analysis, so bookmark here and here now.) Last year, Apple upstaged pretty much every other company in the gadget world with the unveiling of the iPhone, and this year, the rumor mill is hot and heavy with speculation about a tablet for the Mac line. As I do every year at this time, I recently called up the folks at Apple and asked them what to expect from Steve Jobs when he takes the stage for his keynote on Jan. 15. And as they do every year, the folks at Apple told me nothing. So if they won't tell me what they're working on, I'll tell them what I want for the new year.

'We can still win the title, it will not be easy, but we can do it and we will challenge to the end,' Grant told Sky Sports One. 'Every player coming back for us will make us stronger and we need them back. Players coming back from the African Nations Cup will help us. Frank Lampard also returned and I thought he played well. 'Of course every game which we don't win we are disappointe, especially when it is a home match. 'We created some chances against Liverpool but it was not a game that was high on quality and was very tactical. 'We had chances to win the game but were unable to get the goal. We changed with subs and tried to win the game but it was not such a good game.' Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez felt his side were marginally the better team in the match after his first encounter with a Chelsea side under Grant.
